Hello Steves Families,
The last day of school before Winter Break is this Friday, December 22nd.
The first day back will be Monday, January 8th, 2024.
Note that term 1 report cards will be published this Thursday, Dec 21st. Paper copies will not be sent home. Please use the MyEd Parent Portal to access your student’s report card. If you are having trouble, please email MyEdParentPortal@sd38.bc.ca.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Annual Food Drive. Ms. Corneil and two students from division 4 delivered the donations to the Richmond Food Bank this week. This year we fed approximately 17 people for two weeks.
Last week Ms. Paiger’s class welcomed a cluster of salmon roe. These eggs will be hatched and cared for by division 11, then released back into the wild. I will include photos in our weekly collage as they hatch and grow.
On Thursday we will celebrate the Winter Solstice by taking part in a morning Community walk around the neighborhood. All students and staff will be taking part. Please ensure your child has the proper attire, in the event it is raining.
Note that there will be no Breakfast Club this Friday, December 22nd.
This Friday will be Pajama Party Day. Students are welcome to wear their favourite pajamas to school. Friday will also be our last hot lunch of the year.

Save the date! Grade 6 and 7 students have two upcoming field trips in the new year:
January 18th: Cypress Mountain Snowshoe tour and tubing
February 9th: Cypress Mountain Skiing / Snowboarding

We would like to highlight our Library Learning Commons where we have a thoughtful and deliberate collection of diverse and inclusive books that reflect our school and greater community. Many of these books are available at our local public library and you may be interested in checking them out over the winter break.
