• We are settling nicely into our new school year!  Please join us in welcoming the following new staff members:  Ms. Sarah Bjelde (Div 9), Mr. Sam Thomas (ELL/Resource), Ms. Jessica Wong (ELL/Resource), and Ms. Sara Hass (EA).  We would also like to welcome back again, Mr. Vern Ferster who is covering for Ms. Paracholski’s class while we wait for her replacement to be assigned.

• A reminder that instructional time begins at 8:45am.  Any student who arrives after that time should enter thru the main office door and sign in.  If you child will be away, please leave a message on the Early Warning line, 604-668-7866.

• Families are welcome to watch the students on our Terry Fox Run, which takes place on Friday at 1:45pm in our school field.  We will require some parent volunteers to monitor the run.  Please contact the office if you would like to help out.  If you wish to make a donation, please do so through School Cash Online.  All donations will be sent to the Terry Fox Foundation.

• We use a software feature called Family Courier, where we will only send one email per family.  If you have more than one child attending Steves and are receiving multiple copies of our emails, please contact the office to make the adjustments.  Correspondingly, some new accounts have been setup to not receive emails.  If you are not receiving emails from the school, please contact the office.

• Important documents will be sent home with your child early next week.  Please complete these forms and return to your child’s new teacher asap. 

• School fees will be $ 33 again this year, and divisions 1 thru 10 will receive an agenda costing $ 6.  These fees will be setup on School Cash Online next week.  If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact our Principal at rcorneil@sd38.bc.ca.  We do have funds in place to help you.

• Grade 6 and 7 students will be going to Camp Jubilee this fall from October 7 thru 9^th.  More information will be sent directly to you on this.  Thank you to those families that have already made payment.  Any new grade 6 and 7 students will be added to School Cash Online next week.  The payments have been set up as three installments. There will be a second school based waiver coming soon.  A copy of your child’s watersafe certificate will also need to be handed in to the office.
