| Evidence-Informed Rationale | Classroom based assessments of student writing, teacher observation and review of 2025 FSA data showed that students struggle with the basic conventions of writing as well as selecting and using appropriate feature, forms and genres of writing according to audience, purpose and message. |
| Priority Learners | The focus includes developing the skills of students with IEPs based on a learning disability for written output. |

| Action Statement | Increasing student engagement with the writing process through grade appropriate classroom strategies and learning routines. |
