Our School Story in Action

Each week, we will try to share a part of our School Story and how it applies to our community's daily learning.  Our School Story is based on the Core Competencies found in the BC Curriculum.

This week, we would like to feature an interactive display created by the students of Cohort 1. Situated on the traditional and unceded territory of the peoples of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language group, students of Cohort 1 have been exploring the Sturgeon Banks Estuary and sharing their learning with the school community. Cohort 1 engages in intentional place-based learning opportunities and examines how where we are helps us better understand who we are.

This links to our School Story focus in the following way:

Understanding relationships and cultural contexts: “Students explore who they are in terms of their relationship to others and their relationship to the world (people and place) around them."
